There are additional scholarships and loans that United Methodist seminary students may apply for financial assistance. United Methodist students are eligible to receive only one (1) major United Methodist Scholarship from the General Church Scholarship Funds, in addition to the Conference Aid Assistance.
Ministerial Education Fund - Annual Conference Scholarship; You must be a Certified Candidate for the Ordained Ministry. Application Deadlines: July 5th and October 5th.
Bishop L. Scott Allen Scholarship - Honor student with a 3.0 GPA: Preparing for the Ordained Ministry. A First-year student is selected by the President of the Seminary.
Bishop James C. Baker Award - This award is for campus ministers in higher education pursuing advanced studies who have had at least three years of professional experience in campus ministry and have a Master of Divinity prior to the advanced study. Application Deadline: February 1st.
The E. Craig Bradenburg Award - This award is for a person desiring to make a positive contribution to society and who have special needs due to a change of profession/vocation. Applicants must be 35 years or older and a full-time degree student. Application Deadline: March 1st.
Crusade Scholarship Program - Crusade funds are for academic programs on the graduate level. Candidates shall be ethnic women and men who show promise of providing leadership for the church and society. Applicants must be enrolled in full-time study. Dollars for Scholars - Local Church Matching Scholarship - The United Methodist Foundation for Christian Higher Education will provide a $1,000.00 matching scholarship to the first eligible 325 applicants. The sponsoring church must remit an application and check for $1,000 on February 1st. This is on a first-come, first-serve basis for full-time students.
The Esther Edwards Graduate Scholarship - One (1) $5,000 scholarship will be awarded annually. First preference will be given to students who are employed by a United Methodist college, university, or school. The applicant must be a female graduate student pursuing an executive management career in higher education administration with a United Methodist school. Application Deadline: March 1st.
The Georgia Harkness Scholarship - This scholarship is for women over 35 who are preparing to be an ordained elder in The United Methodist Church. The applicant must be working towards the basic seminary degree. Application Deadline: March 1st.
Gift of Hope - 21st Century Scholars Program - This program will provide a $1,000.00 scholarship to United Methodist students who are already in leadership in the church and will continue to be leaders once they graduate. Students must have a 3.5 GPA. Application Deadline: June 1st.
The HANA Scholarships - The HANA Scholarships were created to assist persons of Hispanic, Asian, or Native American origin prepare for leadership in The United Methodist Church, in higher education and in the HANA communities. Students must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States. Application Deadline: April 1st.
The Native American Seminary Award - These awards are for Native Americans who are full-time degree candidates. AT least one parent must be Native American and indicate tribal affiliation. Application Deadline: May 1st.
The John Q. Schisler Award - This award is designed to assist outstanding graduate students who have chosen a career as a professional Christian educator in the local church. This scholarship is not for students pursuing a career as an ordained elder in The United Methodist Church. The person must be a full-time graduate student. Application Deadline is February 1st.
The Minority In-Service Training Fund (MIST) - This fund, whose source is the World Communion Sunday offerings, is used to provide stipends for racial and ethnic minority persons involved in all levels of ACPE-accredited Clinical Pastoral Education. Application Deadlines are January 15, April 15 and July 15.

The Reverend Charles W. Tadlock Scholarship - This scholarship is for a person preparing for parish ministry as an ordained elder. The applicant must be a Certified Candidate for ministry as an ordained elder. The person must be in their second year of graduate school to apply. Application Deadline: June 1st.
The United Methodist Foundation Scholars Program - Three (3) $3,000.00 scholarship will be awarded annually to a first-, second-, and third-year student. The students must be pursuing the Master of Divinity degree. The students will be recommended by the President. Application Deadline: September 1st.
The United Methodist Seminary Award - These awards are for seminary students preparing for the pastoral ministry as an ordained elder. Two (2) students form the first-year class and one (1) first-year career student are recommended by the seminary. The applicant must be a graduate student who has chosen pastoral ministry. Scholarship Deadline: June 1st.

- Be an active member of a United Methodist Church a minimum of one to three years, depending on the scholarship/award
- Demonstrate academic strength
- Show promise for leadership to Christian life and service and endorsed by The United Methodist Church
- Apply and be admitted or matriculating at Gammon Theological Seminary for the coming fall and/or spring semester
The United Methodist Scholarship Program is intended to assist United Methodist students in meeting tuition costs.
